love is like
a solemn lullaby
a splendid melody
an encounter of the heart
no, not just romantic
rather intimate
the binding of spirit
neglecting that
oh so beloved ego
your mind might have
spoken intelligently
logical in terms
never lost
in comprehension
it might have welled
deepest memories
stories you'll never tell
and yes, you are
sensible and critical
about what is right and ideal
but-
you keep forgetting
tugging it away
yes, you are comprehensible
but you lack understanding
too afraid to feel
unwilling to be vulnerable
honey, it's killing your soul
drag that heart out
let passion maneuver
be blinded with emotions
laugh at the madness
cry, wildly as you see
snippets of you
curled up in a ball
honey you cannot
dare not miss
the picturesque scene
just because you are
unable to move
breathe- just breathe
crawl, coz there is
so much courage
waiting to be unleashed
be overwhelmed
let your heart feel
every goddamn thing
that is why we are here
to learn
so don't use the mind
to be your fortress
let it cope
let it heal
let it be
one with its spirit
can't you hear
it has been screaming
since the day you decided
to separate
thoughts and will
the heart and mind
they are
the greatest lovers
we only witness such ordeal
if we let go
permit
the body is their vessel
their temple
thus exist-
a sacred alignment
of mind, body, and spirit
the holy trinity
what love
can ever be
more greater than this?
the introduction of the soul
made the mind prolific
now words suddenly
bear their meaning
look at you-
radiating, epitomizing
beauty.

What a write! Ditto what Edward said. I will have to share this with my daughter. At 36, She is just now learning how to live independently. She has been in relationships that were mostly bad because she didn't want to be alone. She is now learning from her mistakes rather than to keep repeating them.

It's good to see you posting again. And from this poem I would say discovering yourself all over again. Quite an enlightenment, I must say.

Lady, you brought it to him with this honest appraisal of his lackluster life. If this is written with someone in mind, I hope he reads and applies himself to your thoughts and words.

This is simply brilliant!
Your creative antenna was certainly tuned into the Universe
when you penned this stunning poem. It moved me to a place
where I had never been before. How lucky we are to have one
as talented as you in our midst. Thank you audrine. You are
a gem to treasure, now and always. ~Ed

Future: The Spiritual Story of Humanity by Glenn Martin

Histories of the world are generally written to either celebrate technology and science, or to herald doom. My book examines the path of the spirit in the onward rush.
