A description of a feeling of metaphoric freedom.

poem, literature, prose, lyrics, cage, abode, flight, wings

 

 

Here am I

free as a sparrow,

well protected

against a dart or an arrow.

No bird of prey

will cloud the sun

above my head,

and so help me

I am very well fed.

 

I have no complaints

thank God,

my nest

is a fair abode.

It is not a golden

cage though,

but I miss skipping

from bough to bough.

The caged bird sings. But were not sure what is really inside the caged birds' mind except they seem to bond with their masters quite easily and want to sing to them all day long.
