Autumn Prayer

Dear Lord!

We are grateful to You,

For the crickets and grasshoppers that are still amongst us

In this gravely polluted city.

Let us hear Your words this autumn and meditate on

Why the crickets and grasshoppers

Are still chirping their songs

With the rhythm of the autumn river

Chillier than the moonlight at dawn.

All leaves are gone.

The trees are now exposed, showing us the blooming fruits.

Please let us see the ripe fruits

With Your presence this fall season.

Let us be Your trees in the orchard

Harvesting Your fruits,

Not the dark green leaves of summer time.

Dear Lord!

Please do not tell us that winter is far away,

But tell us that we have to prepare for a long winter

And let us live with excitement and exclamation everyday

In this world.
