The Holiday Blues

Christmas is a time of giving a time for sharing too

But for those who have lost a loved one, it’s time for the holiday blues

Families getting together, all cousins playing in the back room

The adults are busy chatting, but I hide alone staring up at the moon

Smiles on everyone’s faces the alcoholics are getting wasted

The Christmas music in the background but nobody notices that you’re not around

My eyes are swollen from all the tears I have cried Oh how I wish it was someone else and not you that died

It’s so hard to get into the holiday spirit with so much grief, why can’t I be happy like them will I ever get any relief?

The holiday blues are so hard to get through, now my tear soaked shirt is sticking to me like glue

My Allieah angel her family she’ll never meet and my precious nana her personality and cooking no one can ever beat

My beautiful nanny we recently lost you the holidays were hard enough and now you’re gone too

The holidays are supposed to be filled with happiness and cheer, for those of us who have lost loved ones, without them yet another year

I miss you so much how I wish you were still here today because with you gone it’s just another lonely holiday
