A snap shot of farming life

                                   Blessed Are The Ones

                               Blessed are the ones
that work so hard   and gets the least
With sweat and toil   they work the soil
a life that has no ease

Man and wife in farming life
they work the whole day through
                               Dreaming of prosperity
The earth will be their tool

And as you say  you've got it made
But not the way  it seems
Richness is found   within the heart
Their love and all their dreams

The neighbors and your kin folk
                                Will always come on strong
                                when everything is against you
                                and everything is wrong

Harvest is at ending   the season is all through
We'll sit down   and sing a song
And drink an old home brew
and talk about the things to do

So just be glad for what you have
When life is some times cruel
Peace that lies within your heart
You did the best you could do

Yes, farmers often work hard and spend their capital only to lose their crop from the weather or disease. It's a hard life. I rue the day when all farming will be done by corporations.

Fortunately where I live, there are lots of family farms, but tohse farms are becoming a thing of the past as farming becomes more and more of a corporation run business, and that's sad.
