I’ve aye questioned the facts o’ lyfe
I’ve wondered at the need o’ stryfe
I’ve thocht aboot a thocht
Why is there a Fife ?
I’ve aye tryed tae answer wi’ a smile
I’ve flowered my hair wi’ seventy kinds o’ luve
I wis a youth
and the warld wis young
an’ I wis jist passing through.
I’m still on the go,
gaein’ wi’ the flow.
Age,
has dyed my hair and flowing beard
wi’ peppercorns.
the warld is still young
an’ I’m still passing through.
I’ve niver learned the art o’ not laughing,
tae me that’s aye been my failing,
a titter or guffaw
the warld exists
for me tae step through gaily.
On I go dancing
heel for heel an’
toe for toe
for the sake o’ sanity...
Och.. I luve the
heartache of it all,
the pain o’ loving.
I view my existence
in this cauld air,
as the wolfen cub
in warm safe lair,
ain step for me
ain step for him
is danger..but
I’m still in my cozy manger.
I’ve aye had the the thocht o’
the abstract..
I’ve pissed upon Michelangelo
an’ shat upon Academia
wha insisted on a paper trail...
afore they wad ca'
my daubing..
Art.
Tae hell wi' them ..I say..
I’ll jist wander
through this tyme o’ myne.
I’ll jist try tae find
some companie
lyke me......
wha are jist passing through....
