I went for a walk in the park yesterday.

Quite softly the dawn
Opens up our day -
Flowers unfold their glory
As streams flow musingly
Under the shadows of leaves

Then comes twilight,
And the sky begins to change
As it fades to softer hues
Soon the vast night,
Will swallow up the sun

So it is with your lovely eyes
They have had their dawn -
And now they own the day,
But soon twilight will fall
Into the hollows of your heart

To dispell your day, and reveal
All your secrets to the windy night
Consuming the beauty of your day,
Letting in the eternal beauty
Of a black and starry night

As for myself, my love
I will be listening as I sit
Motionless upon a stone,
Like a solitary statue
Lost in the light,
Waiting for a stream
To carry me away -
A leaf severed
By a storm
