I'll simply say that this is a mood piece, or if you prefer, a dark poem.

Depart from me this night
Deathly shadow, shadowy death

You cast a pall over my life,
You fill me with fear, with dread
Till I can hardly catch my breath
On my quest for something,
For something of value to hold
In this vortex of whirling faces,
Where I hear the wonton wails
Of demonic darkness and despair
Here, where tears fall
like raindrops
Onto the shoulders of the weary
As they travel through this show
Of grotesques and knaves,
Who in their madness think
They have control over destiny

When all that is fated is fear
And a greed infested wind

Oh, free me from these shadows
Lest I die in vain to the voices
Of this desperate night

THANK YOU. Finally, someone else who writes at least ocassionally of dark, disturbing subjects. You have a great way with words, like "greed infested wind" for example. All the best, D.

This is excellent Ron. It reminds me of my own dark moods sometimes.
