I have never been in the military--this writing is only my perception. I do love my country, and I would go to war for it--as I would for my family or myself.

My prior’s free me to go
Listen to my starving heart—
Sounding off like a weapon of war
I put on fatigues
I’m gone to war
My country called me
Now I fight my assigned enemy
Become a prisoner of war
Now my country doesn’t know me anymore
Lonely

Swim in the tears my family cried
While trying to find me ....
No Affect
My country's heart
Is like broken stone ...
See
If I return alive ...
A shrink to fit me
Back into society
Over in a flash
