...Because Lady A said "Write it!", though, in fairness to her, she didn't know what "it" was! Also, Anita, this is the original "sober and straight-laced" draft narrative of what I promised you was going to be more of a Salome "Dance Of The Seven Veils"-thing... but I don't think that's ever going to get off the drawing board at this rate!! SMILE!!
JOY...
A good belly-laugh is:
Jacking up the body of the car
to detect the problem with the steering,
only to find that the wheels
remain resolutely rooted to the spot
A laugh and a joke is to share a room
with your octogenarian mother
in a London hotel,
and having to tell her
that it is not the plumbing
that's doing all the knocking and bumping
but the menage a trois in the room next door
A Mini Cooper packed with nuns
bouncing along
a straight and bumpy highway
at top speed
raises a smile
Words from a friend
written in the language
of your humour
brings sunshine to your soul
together with an inner smile
And there is a secret smile
in the most inward place
when, in the act of love,
you have gone past
the point of no return
and you know - oh yes,
that the earth will move again
for sure...
Joy:
that moment in time
when every fibre of your being
knows what it is
to be fully alive
And kicking!
...all these things still make me tingle to think of them! Must be the hormones, eh Anita?! LOL Kate xx
Joy is my absolutely faborite word. I use it purposefully in a number of my writings. You have defined it in your joyful reprots.
Love your explaining to Mum about bad plumbing. But these are my, "to live by" portion of your excellent poem, -

Very glad to hear that you are still alive and kicking!
I think I like the stanza about Mom and the room next door the best!

Kate, sometimes the unexpected pleasures in life bring us great joy, and sometimes we travel a known path again because we have experienced the joy before. And I think this is what is mostly
happening in the poem. Repeating a pleasurable experience. I am happy and wearing a smile because you are happy. Hope this makes sense. Enjoy your ride Lady! Hugs Bill
Dear Kate
Your joy is praiseworthy, and honest, genuine and real, it celebrates the simple and universal delights that make us giggle and smile in suprise and delight.......as I am doing right now! LOL

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.
