that is heard but not spoken
and universally understood
at a level too deep for words?
Notes that are read
and simultaneously translated,
by-passing conscious thought
and impressing themselves instead
on the wax of heart and soul
We may communicate the mood of
Prokofiev's Montagues and Capulets
and reply with Tchaikovsky's 1812;
We can berue Le Carnaval Des Animaux
and contemplate with Smetana,
but Peer Gynt will soothe come Morning
Music brands and seals
the scroll it manuscripts
It is its own inspiration
and interpretation
Music is indeed a language that should be heard at a level of words, though often we elect, or purely don't understand. Notes too should not be taken at face value, as there no doubt is more than meets the eye. This has taken me through fated romance, a merry dance illness and to understanading the good and bad in modern man. Thank you Kate for this very powerful write.
