... not to be outdone by your American Thanksgiving, and inspired also by Jude's Eternal Band post today, I have decided to instigate my own spirit of Thanksgiving by saying "Merci, Mwah!" to dear Katy: she holds a special place in my heart as being the very first person to review my work here at the Den, on this, my first poem! In fact, hers was my first review EVER, and I just want to let her know that I shall never forget it: THANK YOU, KATY!!... and I bet you never even knew that, did you?! LOL Kate xx :)))
THE SIGNPOST AND THE BATHTUB
Life's crossroads:
And a signpost's always there,
instead of a bathtub -
which is really what you need.
Turn, turn, turn...
And how to proceed?
Route 66 or London Town;
Northern Lights or Bondi Beach?
Options, on the whole,
need not be signposted;
Decisions, on the other hand,
are usually best arrived at
during a good, hot
soak in the tub:
To sow or to reap;
To wake or to sleep;
To break or to mould;
To have or to hold?
'Twas taps, not bells
that Dick heard, saying:
"Turn again, Whittington!" -
whenceforth, his fate was sealed!
If there was a bathtub
at each of life's crossroads,
it would never be empty
:))))) xoxox

I missed this on the initial posting, so I am grateful for the repost. There is a lot of humor and truth in your words, Kate. This is a great write!

Oh, my, sweet Kate, you should see my face... pretty damp with grateful tears. This piece still has layers of humor, wisdom and I haven't seen its equal in the clever dept. Truth told, since reading this before, little bits of it DO actually come to me when I sit in the tub.
First time, you treated my mind to the visuals, the truths and a huge grin... this time, we have fine wine... I thought then and remain convinced that you are a visionary with an irrisistible funny bone!
I have only words to tell you that I am immensely honored, here, Kate... and to think you would do this when the pleasure was entirely mine! (smile)

Blod Ties - Fantasy, Romance. Romantasy? A bit of whimsy for the weekend. A naive British tourist John Gormley takes a holiday in the ancient, remote kingdom of Perarboria. He does not suspect that his holiday love affair with a local beauty is desti
