"Like Water" manages to capture most everything a passionate love ought be, Kate. Reminds me of a country song that absolutely engaged me in a similar way. Think it was called "Like Holy Water." My dearest Kate... though a bit of a slow learner, I now am fully aware that when I click to read you, I prepare myself: you render me speechless. Love poems have been around even longer than I (imagine that!) and are packed to the rafters in AD... then there's this one.
I must believe that writers, good ones, strive to say "it" as it's never been said, to quietly or loudly stun a reader and bring her/him back for more. You make it look effortless, a star alone, that shines with no need of another. Oh, I know I go on and on... but this poem (already in my library) is what the rest of us strive for.
