Bit of a whacky old thing this, but the concepts have been percolating for some little time, in one form or another. I have been told that there is a scripture which speaks of God whistling to the hive like a Beekeeper, but I don't know where on earth it's from... ?? K xx

QUEEN

In the still of night, it starts: their blood coursing in my veins like a flame; their heat singing in my ears.

The Bees are awake; they are humming my song. With five lidless eyes, they do not sleep but are ever watchful: fire-blind, sun-sensitive. They see the dawn advancing through the membrane of my skin. Once they have gathered round the flower of my heart, I know it’s time to stir.

They suck on sugar-water providence and dance into the day, dispensing it according to their geometric design, their rune-inscripted wisdom. They are of good purpose in a world of which they are mastermind.

I rise up as though in flight, honey on my tongue and their life in my fingertips. Benevolent light is in my eyes.

Soft I walk their chosen path, steps directed by their buzzing impulse as they strew petals along my way. I drip nectar at their bidding which they fan with their vibrating wings, bringing soothing peace and calm. It is a stilled essence sealed in amber pictels and stored in the iris of Bee People eyes.

The bounty The Bees impart hangs like a comb of golden sweetness inside the souls of those they touch; a richness that nurtures, heals and protects.

This symbolic poem dispenses goodness and substance in equal measure
Bees generally fly in a straight line ...just like the crow...and it reminds me of a passage in the Bible from Ezekial...of the man standing on the walls of Jerusalem with a plumb line in his hand !
The most direct way to Almighty God is a straight line

Queen bee is the central metaphors, well expanded with extended images. A wonderful inclusion and intrusion (shall I say ;)) in a part of the world so many of us are familiar of. GREAT writing, keep these broad strokes coming.

this is so darn good, I think I will have to study it, Kate, for both its poetic excellence and its wise life truths, which are buzzing within me even now and spreading like nectar to nourish my depleted soul hive. Dawn

This is such a rich poem, Kate, filled with visuals, emotions and a sense of oneness with all things. Bees have such an interesting social structure, all on a mission for the queen and preservation of the species...through their work, they insure the bounty for the farmers which feeds the world. All of life is indeed a circle. Wonderful write, Kate.
Take care,
Sherry

Wow what a wonderful image you created here of the sweetness of being a Queen Bee in a human form and the wonders and insights of what she would feel. As always your imagination always soars far above the rest of us and always leaves me scratching my head at how great your muse has infused you with your talent. Lovely Sweet Kate, lovely.

What a magnificent poem!Kate you truly have an amazing gift for poetry! Kudo's! The scripture is:

Isaiah 7:18"And it shall come to pass in that day that the Lord
will whistle for the fly that is in the farthest part of the rivers of Egypt, and for the bee that is in the land of Assyria."

This is in the Immanuel Prophecy chapter KJV... My Bible teaching days stay with me;-) Eileen
