A bit of a "rough ride" for me, this one... my thanks to Sage for "tripping the switch" with her "These Boots" write! :)) Dedicated to my male radiologist who has the coldest hands and insists on twisting my arms into the most contorted positions for my daily "zap" - NOT!! Don't worry, I am sure he would laugh at the thought :)) Hmmm... boots?! I prefer chaps meself... !! K xx

BLACK BEAUTY

Booted and suited he admired her
singular wildness from afar; then,
clicking his fingers, he triggered the snare,
brought her down,
slapped her fine leather across his knee
like a desk on which to bang his fist.

Taking the stars from her eyes
he attached them to his heels,
digging them in hard to increase her velocity,
stamping his lucky shoes
upon her rippling flanks.

Gagging her with a bit of pure gold,
he coiled her mane between elbow and palm,
pulled back her head to intensify vision,
setting her sights blinkered on the course
of his destiny.

But he could neither quell her rebellion
nor prevent her strength uprising:
she slid him from her back like a spent phallus,
asserting her sovereignty: The Lone Danger.

one cannot capture the velocity the free spirit ... it can only go along for the ride ...

awesome motion of imagery and superb conquest of theme ...

A startling force of nature stands in these lines on two hind legs, neighing at lightning and thunder, and commanding the respect it is so rightfully due. BLACK BEAUTY is, after all, as BLACK BEAUTY does.

Well, hubba hubba ho ho ho. LOL. Quite a write! Makes me think of a line in my "Island Moors" poem. ;-) You've put the reins on words, that's for sure. Enjoyed this one, Kate.

I felt like the Lone Ranger in this delightful ditty. But the horse rebelled from the kick of my spurs and now I'm a lone stranger.Almost sounded sexual for a moment. You English gals sure have a way with words.

An incredible piece of writing, Kate. Your command and manipulation of language is uncanny. You're the master of this pony ride and you've done just right!

That's right, the women are smarter!! and in many ways so much stronger, too. I love the wild gallop of this piece, Kate. Leaving nothing to chance, "she seen her opportunities an she took 'em" Great write! Your giddy-ap just keeps getting stronger.
Take care,
Sherry

Absolutely awesome imagery Kate, I especially love the last stanza, that was just sublime. All sorts of little jokes and puns are flying through the vast cavity that is my head right now. I fear they are far too risque even for AD. 'Whoa! Horsey...lol Tonto getting giddy' lol...excellent as always dear lady.

Have a Very Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year.

The straight-gay metaphor rides keenly smooth and compliments this kinky, butt-smacking ride from an English female wit, first and foremost what many of the Den members have wanted to say and some have said it! Alrighty then, so thank you for saying it, Kate.

The saddle in which we ride must fit our mind furnishings as well as our anatomy and sexual preference. Some ride soft, some ride hard, some ride Black Beauty both ways in Scotland Yard.

English lass or American lass, both pack a rebellious piece of ass, smack it soft, SMACK IT HARD! Kate, I sell the "chaps" and golden ball gag on my Den site. A little wordplay, a LOT of foreplay, and a hetero roll in the hay. I need to go change my wet boots!

Ohhhhhh sweet Kate I do love it so when you make the comparisons of horses and lovers, and the superiority of female over male is so stunningly erotic that I have to breathe deep to avoid heart damage (just kidding about the heart damage). It is a wonderful poem and you have done a great job with those impressivly strong images and word plays. Well done my little phallus ejector.

Felix
