Why?! All because the Lady loves... and because the picture has absolutely no bearing on the poem... although I am sure someone will find a possible link...??!! :)) K xx

Poem Artwork

OMG!

Widen your eyes and gasp as the secrets
of the Great Unknown reveal themselves
in one minute breath:

the world of the lost right-hand mitten,
the reasons of the noteless suicide,
the movements of the car parked
not where you left it;

the arcane wisdom of the contents
of a woman’s handbag,
the line of muscle behind the arm-lock
of prayer,
the transmigration of library books…

As fires of realisation blaze down
neural pathways, you will utter
just two letters, O and W,
and the single word WOW…

followed, probably, by just one other:
Y?

The mysteries abound in this fun little gem, Kate. I haven't found the link between the "hammered duo" and the rest of the ponderings, but I am amused, to say the very least. Persuing the questions that seemingly have no simple answers is what brings writers to a higher level and poetry to its intended place.
Take care,
Sherry

I love a good mystery - and I'm entering all these clues into my 'Mystery Solver' computer program. I'll get back to you.

With all enhibitions aside...a drink or a few will bring out the character in poets. Now if only we had voice to go with the picture and poem...I would see it at Cannes.

as we open our eyes to what cannot be seen, to invision the acitivity of things hidden from our view, enables us to appreciate and celebrate their seemingly shrouded presence ... this is the key to enlightened poetic perspective ...

I so wish I could have been along on that trip Sweet Kate, I am sure we would have all shared some great mems. As for this poetic gem it is lovely in it's simplicity combined with the questioning phrases that follow. Love it.
