If wishes were fishes

Poem Artwork

 Dear Sanity,
Received your invitation to come out and play
but am really busy with other vital stuff today
No, let me be truthful, Sanity, I find you a snob,
an overblown, fly-blown egregious slimy blob

Your brother, In and I have a special "thing",
now, there is a guy who can make my bells ring
We plot murders and commit a few before lunch
Then we torture kitty cats and babies by the bunch

You were okay in my formal, "normal" boring life
when I cooked and cleaned and was the good wife
Then the Fists moved in with us and took over
beatings were normal, no more rolling in the clover

Your brother In came took me, hid me somewhere,
with my black eyes and bruises - no more lovely hair
He whispered to me of a place we could live,
with my mind a swiss-cheesy non-functional sieve

We play games and spit and cuss, always make a fuss
people stare, shake their heads - some even point at us
We made Fists go on a long, luxury vacation of sorts,
not many stop at fancy hotels or those spa resorts

We took a hatchet with a sharp blade then, can you guess?
Oh, was it fun, the screams and that terrible bloody mess,
Now Fists is here and he is there..a real man about town
As IT would put it, "Fists, we want you to come on down."

Stabbing Pencey Boudreaux by Mary Lynn Plaisance

A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
