Tiny hands reach out with love and care
Tracing the wrinkles of aged weathered skin
Both generations smile with delight and glee
Generations come and go but this moment stays
Written in the hearts of legacies family touches
All there who pass by this retirement home are blind
Never guessing this moment in time imprints
The child grows but this last touch of age stays
Once standing at the grave of death and birth, tears
But the child stared off lost in their last embraces trace
Wrinkles of age disintegrated not their memories
Smiling he knows he touched a legacy that’s with him
Days ago a tiny hand reached out with love and care
Tracing his grandfathers aged weathered skin
Both generations smiled with delight and glee
Though the generations since have come and gone
Fantastic... it's all in the touch and the transference of feeling and being felt. We live what we feel, and no mistake. Our reality is in the things that truly move us. True and enduring contact has been made here which it utterly unforgettable. Lovely tracings, imagings, and relationship portrayal. Gentle but strong. Feel the beauty of the intergenerational connection and bonding through your words here, Theresa. Bless you and thank you. Kate xx
the delicate texture of a grandchild's hand tracing the contours his grandfather's weathered skin is a wonderful image of youth seeking wisdom and wisdom seeking to nurture youth, something both can certainly be happy about as they are joined together by love and affection ... excellent poem, Theresa ...
I can so relate to this write, children and grandchildren can touch age and never care what you can or can't do only that you love them.
