Under the Bed

Awakened from slumber, by a dream
such a fright,
an impotent scream in your throat.
you lie wide awake in the dead
of the night
before a rerun of Murder, She Wrote.

Your eyelids are heavy, but your heart's
still aflutter
your nightmare still fresh in your mind.
You turn up the lights as the chill
makes you shudder
you're wishing to simply unwind.

then it's back off to bed, the remote tucked away
after re-checking the locks on your door.
You're praying for shut-eye to face the new day,
just maybe an hour or more.

Phantoms and ghosts, the Boogeyman too, the fears race around in your head.
But along with the dustbunnies, shoe boxes, lint...
what else is under YOUR bed?

With a poem like that---you're tugging at my heart strings. As always, a great piece. What else is hiding in that brain of yours?

Hmmm no dustbunnies and or shoe boxes under my bed, and as for anything else NOPE nothing...see I will admit I've always been one to hate open space under a bed so I have a pedestal waterbed! ;O)
I enjoyed this one!

The Wholly Book of Genesis by Jay Dubya

The Wholly Book of Genesis is a humorous satire on the first book of the Old Testament where the Story of Creation, the building of Noah's Ark, Sodom and Gomorrah and the families of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are thoroughly spoofed and broadsided.

Love is a Pretty Girl with a Cape to Share Your Dreams With by Bob Boze

A humorous look at the world and life through my eyes. Follow the author and his wife, as they travel the world …. several times over. Laugh at their funny stories, self-inflicted crazy events, strange observations, wacky zoo facts and snippets
