Jesting Taunting
I set you free, I let you go, not because I want it so.
You have my heart you always will!
I understand the reasons why, but still a tear I do cry!
Passion flared and seared my soul, a treasure in my heart I hold.
The fire still burns and the spirit cries, but I have learnt the pain to hide.
On my face a smile you’ll see, yet jesting, taunting killing me.
A mirrored soul an inner mind, staring out with eyes so blind.
Do you see the necromancer, lurking behind this slaughtered soul.
I want to flee, decamp, elude, gust away and leave behind,
sorrow, pain, hurt despair.
You asked forgiveness, there was no need,
You begged it so, you were given it,
The one thing that kept you near, the “unforgiving” factor fear.
All the while I knew within, should I “forgive” you’d leave me then.
Your wellbeing more pivotal then, than to hold you against your will.
In my heart there is your place, when you return from your wounded state,
My open arms they will embrace, at any time or given place.
Just call out, and I will hear, your gentle voice and tender heart.
I take charge of shattered pieces, remember though you're always needed
But for now I set you free, in time, and time alone we’ll see
If to me one day you’ll come, return on home here next to me.
Fly on high my little sparrow, heal your wounds, and fight your battles.

It reminded me greatly of a letter I received from a special someone on leaving for Vietnam.
Splendid job, Elga.
