Island Hush
Hush... lay still, close your eyes, sleep tight,
‘Morrows coming, after a peaceful night.
Sunlight’s kissed you, tenderly,
Lovingly caressed you, heavenly,
Looking yonder, the sun sets low,
This day ends, with a glorious glow.
Gentle breezes here and there,
Fireflies soon, will fill the air,
Frogs stream out, just to croak,
Crickets chirp, in the undergrowth.
In gentle darkness, embers sway,
Glorious moon, begs you stay,
Nightjars feed, while we’re asleep,
Waves rush up, the shore to greet.
Island dreams, of tender hues,
Sensual waters, warm to you,
Soothing feel, the sandy shore,
Close your eyes and sleep some more.
Hush... lay still, close your eyes, sleep tight
‘Morrows coming, after a peaceful night.
Sleep tight… sweet dreams…
and good night.
