Poem Artwork

The autumn sun spills gloriously

across the horizon of tree tops

as phalanxes of rapturous pigeons

wheel and circle in the florid sky

as I ponder and muse deeply,

another gifted year coming to a close

the swallows and swifts

have headed back to sunnier climes

whilst the spider is spinning gossamer webs,

in the misty and foggy dawn

I am sanguine and content,

with the progress made to date

moving in well oiled synchronicity

towards that measured and tapered goal

that I know is fully and absolutely

within my grasp and cherished ideals

the slumbering verdant forest

tells me that all is well

as long as I continue

on my own chosen path

that continuum and fate

has a mind and will of its own

I genuflected in silence

before the voice of the still

and felt the supreme glow

of spirit and faith enthrall

we journey but once

through the puzzling maze of life

and to succeed and excel

you must start out the way

you are going to finish

Peter, I've missed reading your poetry. I haven't been able to check in as often. What a breath of fresh air. You have a gift for perfect detail. I admire what you said at the end...that if we are to succeed and excel in life that we must start out the way that we are going to finish. I've never thought about it like that....

Focus on another chance to do a better job again. Our Creator gives us chances with every new day and every season to justify getting it right one more time.Life's a gamble we can improve upon every day. I love it and I really enjoyed this pen, Peter and I have a chance to read it again if I didn't get it the first time.
Love this...
and you my friend.

Those Chimney's are one of the most fascinating things I have noticed in England....each time I see them I smile....looks like little thorns standing on guard...sticking out... protecting the house from evil!!

Sir Peter the Eloquent ...

No matter where we are, there is life around us busily living and moving forward as we are.

Along life's path some are given the priviledge to walk, for a season, with those who enrich and edify your life. You are such a person in my life Peter. I am thankful that life has caused our paths to cross in this season.

A beautiful pondering you have created here my friend ...
