Is it not because he is selfless
That his Self is realised? Tao Teh Ching, Lao Tzu

By selfless deeds we find ourselves
The greater Self flowing through you and me
Through thinking of others
Understanding our oneness with brothers
Such truths do set us free

When giving recovers
Healing from suffering under covers
Reach out your heart and hand
No stranger lives inside you
In essence we are brand new
Life’s great mystery in every land

Accomplish selfless deeds as the one true feat
Reasons for living in this world
Make it the benchmark
The heart of us to impart
Create beauty from your Selfless Sea

Wonderfully written and I loved the style, the effortless presentation of meaning in rhyme and rhythm.

I am, just this morning, beginning a journey, Suzie. A journey seeking quintessence. I will seek this quintessence in a new book I will write. This poem of yours has the basics of part of man's quintessence. Selfless nature. I intend to explore that nature and, with your permission, I would like to quote parts of your poem in the book as an argument "for" unselfishness., if you would send me a message giving me your approval. I will, of course, give credit where credit is due to the composer of the poem.

Suzie you have touched upon Philosophy of Iqbal and Rumi in your Poem Selfless Sea. Iqbal mentions it as " Khudi " and you have talked of selfless sea. Both have the same meaning and purpose. The ultimate source of inspiration is primarily reflected in the founding literature, which is the Book authored by Imam Ali (Alaihi Salam) some 1400 years before, its name is Nehjul Balagha.
