Good Christian Response

I wrote this one with heavy heart as I tried to work through a goodbye message I received from a fellow writer on the den. I was asked not to review their work for they wanted to write spirituals and they did not think I was a spiritual person which I admit I am not overly so. However I review poetry on the merit of its quality, imagery, imagination, and other criteria that really should not be limited to the subject matter. Anyway this poem is my way I guess of trying to work through this hurt...

Good Christian Response

By: Felix Perry

With heavy heart I say goodbye

To someone who made me ache

I offered my shoulder to lean on

Perhaps that was my big mistake

I tried to listen to her sobbing heart

To offer support to heal her pain

Only to be told I wasn’t welcome

Didn’t even want to explain

Something about this God of hers

Because my views did not agree

She didn’t want to hear my comments

That’s that, so perhaps I should let it be

Yet I hurt too when I’m rebuffed

Perhaps people think I do not feel

When I read another’s heartfelt words

My replies are always true and real

But I will bury away this new hurt

That she may never know I care

Goodbye to you good Christian friend

I’ll walk away till I’m no longer here!

Fee, I have a friend who I would guess is probably a lot like you, as far as spiritual matters go. We all respect his beliefs and he does ours and I know you are the same way. One day another friend was looking through his CD collection and found a few contemporary Christain CD's...and was totally shocked. His answer to the obvious question was priceless. He said "I may not believe in the message but I love the voice of the messenger" I am sorry you were hurt this way....

Felix, my heart pains for you.
You have always given kind, gentle, and loving words.
Regardless of religion I have always felt you have a good heart.
Heal soon, heal soon. Do not dismay, the Lord sees you and your heart and loves you just as much. Having a true heart is the special key I think and I believe you got that! These are my true feelings and beliefs.

SPIRITUAL HUGS AND LOVE TO YOU,
From the Heart of an Artist ...

Well I'm a christian, though at times you'd think not, cause I dont measure up to the So called status, and some ppl like to rub your nose innit, copped a dose of that the other day, when I did me cruet...
No one is perfect, only HE who is perfect, all we can hope to attain is salvation through GRACE, other than that we are nothing more than worthless sinful skusting beings, who Jesus had to die for, because the Father could not look at us..
We should be grateful for our very existance...End of Sermon LOL

And so in saying this, if you have been rejected because you just didnt measure up to some high falootin self righteous Religio-Christian, then all I can say is...That's HER LOSS ok!!
You know me, I state my piece when things arent what I particulary like, but I dont push aside those who respect me for what I am, as i repsect other for what they are. You agree to disagree, and if you are TRULY A CHRISTIAN...TAKE NOTE FEE, you keep on letting that light shine, even when ppl make jokes, or snob you aside.

Being a Christian, simply means, one who follows Christ, and in following, we are ever learning.. Otherwise we would be leaders now wouldnt we, and that's not possible, we are imperfect so therefore as Sheepies, we need to be lead, Constantly, without ceasing, or we fall into the pit, without the Good Shepherd!!

OOOOOOOh I get so annoyed with sanctimonius ppl, grrrrrrrrrr, hey we are all flesh and blood, and not elevated to any special rank over another, we are all Gods children at the end of the day, and even those who wear the Cloth, fall short!!
Fee, I can hear your hurt, besides reading it, and feel it, and I will say this to you again...IF someone thinks they are too good for you, then they have a cockeyed understanding of what christianity is all about, mate, hang in there, I know your gonna grieve, but take it from me, a disciple not unlike Peter, who just always had foot n mouth disease and raved n ranted alot.. I know my shortcomings, and I fall so short of the Lords love and mercy 99.9 percent of the time!
It's only in a desire to serve HIM, follow HIM, obey HIM and Love him, and others, our fellow man, that we are his sheep.
He wont bang down the door of those who dont want him, point blank, but he is always gently knocking.. waiting and waiting to be invited in..He's not pushy like his deadly opponent!!

Oooops did i just write all that. Phew...Sorry Fee for the sermon I just thought I ended, but I hope this all comes up as encouragment for you, remember i fall short too, and i profess Christianity ok.

Hugs to you
And can I say this..Jesus loves you too
Your Friend

This is so painful, Felix. We do our best to be honest and sometimes that honesty inadvertently puts a wedge into a friendship. I don't believe that we should feel guarded with our friends and I do believe that we must always be honest while at the same time, trying not to be insensitive to their feelings. It can, at times, be a fine line between being direct and honest and our words seeming hurtful or judgmental.
Take care,
Sherry

Being a Christian is loving everyone, and being open to others, for we are not going to see eye to eye on many things, but we must respect others and their opinions, beliefs, and feelings. Don't let this get you down, keep your chin up and your reviews honest as that is how poetry should be reviewed. I don't want someone tickling my ears with words that they think I want to hear...tell me what's on your mind and in your heart. I disagree with the way you were treated...the finest gift a Christian can give the world is unconditional love and charity....write on, read on, and review as always my friend!

YOu are a sensitive guy, Caring, loving and Kind!
I know this!
I've been your friend a long time, and I hurt for you!
YOu not the type of person to redicule anyone on their religion, becuz, you allow Ppl to be themselves. It's true I feel it in your response, you write from what you feel.
YOu know... this person may feel there own religious wrongs.
(Throw the 1st stone)
I like how you wrote this out, and got it out of you!
Sit back, play your guitar, and know in your heart of hearts, you gave your best!
It must turn around!
From 1 comment/poem/thought- I 'm not sure if it will last!
The wall this "person" put up is high, and she sounds stubborn. That is her entitlement. Come on- Cheer up Sweetie!

Fee:

Some hold their own believes to themselves; and there is this great big wall between themselves and the outside world. They don't see your existence. Forget it! Don't be hurt by this. I was hurt too in the beginning when I thought there was something wrong with me that a friend who used to be a friend, and then when they re-surfaced again this friend had totally ignored my exitence.

I leave my door wide open, if this friend who used to be a friend would suddenly remember me that I used to be a friend, then this friend is welcome to be my friend once again.

Rather than that, you cannot break through the thick wall to reach them, no you can't.

Forget it! Just leave your door open. I think this friend needs to be awakened before she realizes that there are actually friends around her who would give her the support she needs.

Hey Fee,

Don't let that get you down...I've been shunned by of few of those types myself ;)...there's always a few unstable hypocrites out there, and some with psychological issues who should seek professional help. A sad reality either way. But this is an artistic forum and if someone doesn't invite open commentary perhaps they should leave. So shake it off 'cause you're closer the the Big Guy then they may ever know.

P.S....Are you still planning on coming to the Warlock ceremony tonight? LOLLOL :))) Its a joke... lighten up folks :)

It's always amazed me at the judgment some have alhough ,in their hearts, they believe that He teaches to judge not, lest Ye be judged.
I know who you speak of Fee and she is needing to quest for herself right now. Until we know and are seure in who we are other's may get blamed for our insecurities.
Hang in there Fee.

OH, Oh, OH,
I read this got so upset I erased Knowing You from my files.

FEE! i am so sorry I feel if we are going to post here at the Den or anywhere in public we will encounter many readership. And to do so is important especially with spiritual posts at least for me. I do not judge my readership they and only they can know where they are with their spiritual health and walk. It is not for a poet to demand one not read due to not knowing if they agree with them I would think this as very persumptious on their part for God knows the heart. I believe in the coming of the rapture many will be amazed how many stand on the side of the living lamb that they thought never knew the Lord.
The problem today within the body of Christ is that many want, need and belong but they are turned off by the elevated egos, the strife, deception etc the lack of love, sharing of the spirit of GOD.
I can feel the pain in this it has happened to me also by a few spiritual writers here i too obeyed their commands and wishes and i pray for them. But it keeps me stronger knowing who I am and whom I stand in. Thank you for writing this poem. It is a rendering and endearing piece. I welcome all that want to read me. I would never turn away a person.

Bless you,
Joselyn
