Still Cold Outside But...

“…the winds are blowing down from the North which  calls for another winter storm advisory and with this condition bringing freezing temperatures and a new low front coming from the East hints at mountains of snow by tomorrow morning…”

I shiver as I hear the weather,

it calls again for ice and snow

Tremble at the thoughts of shoveling,

my back aches don’t it know

The heating bill has doubled

and our spirits feeling low

Christmas glitters long past,

and spring is coming far too slow

The bears and squirrels hibernate,

and dream of summer sky

The rich folks fly to balmy Florida

          its tempting I won’t lie

Instead I’ll put on a crackling fire,

          turn the radio dial to low

Dim the lights and open the curtains

          And we’ll watch mother natures show

Play hold me close beneath a blanket

          maybe nibble at your ear

It may be cold outside in winter

          but it’s always warm in here
