Mysteries of the ages intrique me...

Poem Artwork

Of Secret Societies

By: Fee

The decayed rot of secret coded talk

Where Rome a fable created to ignore

Into the dark abyss of hatred measured

No righteous God could live there anymore

Contaminated retained relic memories

Like cracked old black and whites

Store-bought passion of convictions

Brushed off filth of endless nights

Pages deleted and fresh ones made

Twisted truth in mystic fear

To sanctify the will of men in robes

Keep the masses in unlearned fear

Summer breeze along a headwind

Billowed white sails a cross of red

The Knights looked always eastward

Clues garnered neath the Northern Cross rock bed

Crusades of genocide bless the Holy route

The temple Solomon once rose and fell

Grave skeletons sit witness to the void

Where false Gods there may linger still

The thirteenth day of a Friday

To this day the doomed remind

Hearsay and the false temples fell

On private eyes forever blind…

Secret societies - chilling! Yesterday, today, tomorrow - sadly, they will exist to keep the masses off kilter. Fear of ... keeps them in existence. Well said.

God bless you. Kathy

Unfortunately, these truths do not rest only in history. There are still many dark corners in our world where corruption and a lack of value for human life still reigns. Interesting pen, Felix.
Take care,
Sherry

Fee, you are entering a dangerous territory here, secret societies have the penchant to go after the whistle-blowers.
But the poem gives us something to think after been to church...
..."it was all worthed?..." because those white bones can't tell us for certain.

Man' design has little to do with God's will, though millions are put to the slaughter, all in the Name of God. I hear yah Fee.

This reminds me of a piece of history I read recently. There was a society of Gnostic Christians living in the South of France at the beginning of the 14th century. They were extinguished via force of arms by the Church because they refused to follow dogma. Interestingly for me, the hard-assed quote I thought only Viet Vets knew surfaced then. A bishop was asked how to tell the righteous from the apostate when wading into battle (which included the good Christian slaughter of women, children, old people and anyone else who would not yield to the power of the state Church ... one contemporary account mentions limbs, heads and torsos spread over the ground for all to see and fear). The bishop said "God will know his own." Basically the same riff as "Kill 'em all, let God sort 'em out." Strange to find the provinance of such a cult phrase in such a place and such a time. Or maybe not. There's no depravity humanity can inflict upon itself which hasn't already been done to death (see Rape of Nanking, Wounded Knee Massacre, Bosnia in the 1990s, etc., etc.). I suppose we shouldn't be surprised that mindless rage has been around since Hector was a pup ...

Yer buddy,
Boots Dorfman

Tuberculosis: The Greatest Story Never Told by Frank Ryan

The heroic story of how a small group of people, few of them TB experts, found the cure for the greatest killer in human history. But the battle needed to be extended to all sufferers. Why have we failed to take the miracle to the developing world?
