             The Dream
                       By: Felix L. Perry
                        March 08, 2008

Had a dream the other day
Funny I wasn’t ever asleep
Visions of what might occur
When for my heart you weep

I saw teardrops being wasted
Dripping on a granite stone
My voice filled the stillness
My soul now free to roam

Don’t cry for me tomorrow
Nor sadly sigh for me today
I lived and loved and died
Knew I couldn’t always stay

In my dream you held each other
Found comfort for your pain
I smiled as I looked down at you
Knowing I would rise again

Heard the children’s laughter
Knew in them you’d find me
Blood of blood in their veins
I knew that you would see

Then I waved a fond farewell
Knowing I’d be forever near
You’d need only to think of me
And our love again we’d share…

I thought I might be on the only one to indulge such thoughts, Felix... but I was very wrong! Actually going as far as to envision the scene of our demise or translation is perhaps not for the faint-hearted, but, on the other hand, perhaps demonstrates an acceptance and even maybe a contentment with one's lot in life... at least a kind of satisfaction for what we leave behind us. This is both tender and strong; compassionate and bracing. We are both travelling between two worlds in our thoughts today! And... in answer to your question... yes, I am!! :)) xx

Love photographs such as this and those of the ocean. Can just sit and let my mind wander for hours without even noticing the passage of time. A vision like no other extending comfort and eternal love from beyond the grave. A painful, yet reassuring write. God bless and always keep you close....

Be always safe

This is a gorgeous look into your heart, Fee, for it shares a glimpse into the future and how you will want to be remembered when the Good Lord calls you Home. I think your feelings echo those of each and every one of us.

Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem.

Jill
