I often think that our desks are a reflection of who we are...

Poem Artwork

From The Desk Of…

Fee

Date minder sits like an open book

Daring me to just have a look

Time paraded out in a string of sighs

Penciled in parties like swarming flies

Notepad scribbles and sticky notes

Cling to my wall like winter coats

Phone numbers, places and names

Reminders of life’s little games

Books on shelves in painted dust

Forgotten joys for which we lust

Retired heart and pensioned mind

In a haze I search but do not find

With the click of keys I come awake

White screen magic no mistake

Sweep the dust balls, vacuum the brain

Send the past on a South bound train

lol, I think so too, if yours is scattered then so is your mind and thoughts and if you're organized then you're emotionally stable at that point??? yes, that makes sense.

COOL write Fee, LOL, well if our desks reflect who we are, then why do I have..an ornament of a two lambs, a home made iris, a vase of red roses.. a nest of chickens, piglet a bible, and a bee with a beard painted on is chin??? I could move them, but i don't want too, funny thing isnt it. Love this totally awesome.

Fee,
You seem to find inspiration with every glance. I love the detail in this poem, and I agree with your comment about a desk being a reflection of its owner. Great piece! Love and Hugs~

My desk tends to be very neat...BUT...there is this one corner where papers and books seem to climb.*smile* Excellent writing, as always, Fee.

Ha! If Monte Hall came to From the desk of...Sage Sweetwater Let's Make A Deal...you might be a redneck Foxworthy DVD, you might be a porn star Marilyn Chambers, Little Joe, Hoss, and Adam Cartwright Ponderosa scribbles, lavender fingernail polish, a naughty clothespin, a feather quill, a candle, peeled off Jim Beam labels, carmex lip balm, hairbrush, Mason Jar, William DeVault's CD Amomancer: nightblooming, patchouli & nag champa incense, her lipstick kissed envelope with my letters from you know who...wooden flute, my pink-tinted eyeglasses, listerine breath spray, a flint striker, what more do you need? Good personality poem, Felix...our desks are a reflection of who we are, as writers and as individuals...be well you.

Love Always,
Sage

I really love this poem, Fee. I think it's one of my favorites of yours, though it's hard to pick from all your good work. I have thought of writing on the same topic - I look around and all I see are books, flowers hand-picked by my little daughter that have become so dry they're beginning to crumble and turn to dust, little treasures from past and present - with just enough open space to highlight the things I love. And, of course, my dog - AnnaBelle - always by the side of my chair...

Love this write, sound oh too familiar~smile. No matter how tidy you try to keep it the lovely papers seem to magnetically return.
It is all good though, what would we do without it?

Nice write. Sure describes a cluttered desk with items from the past as well as someone's mind-set and how some people hang on to the clutter of the past while others don't.

Fee, it is very impolite to look over my shoulder and see and tell how my working space looks like (and with a picture, not less), oh well! I don't think yours is better! ! !
