Just saw some roses yesterday and thought of a line...

Rose Say Much More

By: Fee

I watched the wind snag the rose petals

I saw them drift to the inviting ground

The roses caught my attention and held it

While I stood there alone with no sound

Stooping I picked up one velvet rose petal

So suddenly reminded so much of you

It felt as soft as the skin of your sweet cheek

So I then held it up to my lips…its true

For the red was the color of your lipstick

The scent hinted memories of your perfume

Wind carried petals like freedom of your spirit

The rose’s full beauty was your heart in bloom

So I plucked a fresh rose from the rose bush

Took a chance that a thorn may bring pain

For in life a rose, like love, is always a blessing

It’s a chance always worth taking again…

All beautiful lines, Fee. The delicate rose...its softness, its delicate fragrance, lovely reminders. Love is always worth a second try, thorns and all. Beautiful piece! Hugs, Lizzie

A lovely work Fee. I love roses and mine grow even with the first snows. I think because protected by the brick and warmth of the house. I will have to take a picture of them in the snow.

Hands down, you are the most romantic guy ever, your poetry reminds me of the talent that Nicholas Sparks(The Note book, A walk to remember, Nights in Rodante)has when penning his timesless novels.

Around south of the border we are smarter, we grow thornless roses.
But I know what you meant with this poem, yes, taking a petal up to your lips will recall the memory of her skin...
And you call ME a romantic?

Felix,

Very warm and loving writ. Didn't you mention something about "my" font? Hmm...I am not going to say it.

Much enjoyed this work.

Fee,
Loved this! It reminded me of the song The Rose. That song is about taking chances in love. Keep them coming, my friend.

Many blessings,
~Linda
