The Room Of Mirrors
By Fee
her penance to wait in the room
with the mirror that stares
at the abused and the blind
evoking the salt of her tears
the cold drafts sneak in
then the winter winds point
to the trappings of his…
most irreversible sin
the frost paints his picture
in non-colors sublime
the clock keeps the record
of what was at one time
her heart stores a heartache
a dream now better forgot
red silk chemise rustles
as she calls out his name
then hangs down her head
in such bittersweet shame
ah but what’s that she hears
o’er the mirrors protesting moan
tomorrow walks through the door
as the mirror weeps all alone…

Can't say I like the photo, but I think the poem is great. Deep regret resonates here; all too realistic. Love and Hugs,

This just pisses me off!!! But I like the way you ended it.
Break that damn mirror and start anew.
