Heart Song He's just an old country singer In a cabin back in the pines Playing three chord melody Thought he knew the perfect lines He’d said he’d sing her a song So she’d hear it miles away Ask the stars to carry it forward So that night he began to play Far away and in another land But beneath the exact same stars In her heart she heard him singing As if it were echoing off Mars If music tames the savage beast Then love songs soothe the heart She knew inside he really loved her Even though so very far apart…
