Angels and Hope

If a Guardian Angel watching over me

I hope she sees the teardrops in my eye

The ones I save, for walks on rainy days

The ones at night behind closed doors I cry

Hope she sings me home when its my time

My song request would be “Amazing Grace”

If I hear some crappy rap or heavy metal song

I’ll know I’m headed to that other place

I hope she can see past all my painted smiles

To read the weeping heart inside this man

Hope she has full access to my mortal soul

With which, I’ve always done the best can

Yes, sinners and saints once surrounded me

I wonder if my Angel knows I did my best

If I am to be judged I hope she’s beside me

Hope she can put my old scarred soul to rest…
