On the other hand
The wages of writing can be immeasurable
Miniscule perhaps
But wider than the sea.
I get some "pay" when someone writes
And says "I loved your book because..."
(I like it even better if
She says "I *bought* your book...)
Writing is me in a way.
Has been since I was six years old
Writing a story about a tulip flower-
My grandmother grew it and loved my little story.
So the wages of writing can cut both ways
And I'm sharing the thought of both these aspects
with you.

Sally, I am very sick, trouble breathing, and yet I feel impelled to write on seeking to leave a positive mark on society with one of my songs. And I cannot stop so long as there is a breath in me I will pursue my goal to hear one of my songs on the radio. bill murray
Never been lucky enough to get paid for any of my work... had a couple published in the newspaper and I was over the moon,like you I have been writing since I was a kid(still trying to teach myself spelling and english as I go along)I couldn't stop writing even if they did pay me to stop ...and that would be more likely than getting paid to write.
