The decaying of a poetry site...This was written several years ago and has nothing to do with this site here, represented here or otherwise. THe site has dissolved. I only wanted to share my poem. Thanks HCD

Marshmallow Walls

Morning is over
It’s high noon now
There’s chattering within the walls
A gathering will be soon

The gooey slim of the marshmallow
Oozes through our fingers
Hurry! Scoop it up
All must be saved for the new beginners

There is not only just us
To lay in the ruins of rust
Get the chrome polish out
We’ll sing and dance about

Slip those thoughts that seep through the cracks
And hope to hell the rusty ones will be back
Yes…we miss the little twigs and rugged trees
Who were the fathers, the busy little bees?

The Sword and the Dragon - The Wardstone Trilogy Book I by M. R. Mathias
