It is apparent that through all of my life I have to live it with homophobic strife from those that just refuse to accept that there are people in this world who are born different than they through no fault of their own.
I was told I write like a man pretending to be a girl when all of my life I have wanted nothing more in this world, than to just be my mother's daughter.
I was told that my wanting to be a girl had something to do with my father whom I have never known and fixated on my mother as a role model.
A mother who abandoned and disowned me? A mother who sent me to an institution because she could not deal with a transgendered child?
The word homophobic in the dictionary means disliking homosexuals to an unreasonable degree even tho transsexuals are not homosexual. Other words that mean homophobic too are discriminatory and prejudiced.
Must I always have to live a life through all this bigotry and strife when I have been so abused in every way?
Must I always be hated because I was born different than other women?
Why are people so afraid to accept those like me, who just want to be happy, carefree, and loving?
Transsexuals are not homosexual because homosexuals do not wish to change their bodies just so they may be complete and whole in their bodies and souls.
It is so sad that in this day and age we have people so filled with rage at those of us who are born different.
Between your Bio-Page and simply reading and getting to know you if ever there was a woman that I was reading about, THIS IS IT. Wow, what a trial my sweet. You are a prolific writer and an awesome lady, keep it up.

One thing that I have sensed in all of your writing is a deep compassion for others. There is also a tremendous amount of courage that shines through your work.
All of us have been subjected to cruelty from others, to one degree or another. Highly creative people especially are often demeaned for not being what they "should" be. I don't think anyone in this world gets out without emotional scars. But, one thing is certain, those who cast stones at others, who are judgemental, cruel and "filled with rage" are the most scarred of all. And thus, to be pitied.
Sadly it is often themselves that they hate the most, they just take it out on others because they haven't learned to deal with their own personal problems. I am sad for them. But I'm also very proud of you for rising above it, and for not allowing it to stop you from expressing yourself.
You have traveled a long and weary road to find and accept yourself as you are. Those who are mired in bigotry still have that long road ahead of them. If you think about it, those who can't accept and be comfortable with the differences they find in other people, most surely have not learned to accept themselves either...Such people obviously have not made as much progress as you have. They must be in terrible pain to carry around so much internal uglyness 24/7. Don't you think?
Just remember: "To thine own self be true" (and don't EVER let the turkeys getcha down! :o)

A sad read. Ignorance of others is a shame. There are many that really do care and understand. It is they that are not noticed or heard, only the negative and ignorant seem to bleed through to hurt others. Barb, there are more individuals out there that really do care and love you more than you realize.

I cry for you I really do. I know that I would never change being a woman and you shall neither. If I could change the way the world treats you I would. You suffer from so many sources, none of them fair. But you remember that you have something that no one else has, that beautiful, femine soul that God gave you, no matter what the world does, don't let it take that away. I am just so happy, that you have taken the chances that you have, rather then burying who you were meant to me.

Ignorance abounds, Barbie. Why should anyone care what you wish to do with your body or your life??? If you were born physically as a female and wanted to have tons of plastic surgery to enhance yourself, men would sing your praises, but because you were born with a female soul and a male body and wish to coordinate the two, suddenly they want to call you a freak. All you are trying to do is become a complete person. Most of us were born with a soul that matched our gender, for those who were not, let them decide their own fate and let the rest of us accept that different is not the same thing as wrong! I cannot judge anyone whose shoes I have not walked one hundred miles in.
