Even tho mother said to come home with her when the judge said I was free to go...I thought yes I will have a roof, but where am I really going?

Free To Go Where?
by Barbara Lynn Terry

"You are free to go..."
the judge said as he pounded his gavel.
I am free, free as the bird, and the wind.
But,
free to go where?
For five, almost six years
I cried a river of tears,
As I lay shaking in my fears.
I was only twelve when she sent me away,
Telling me how bad I was that very day.
But how could I be bad when I did what
I was told, and never even talked back?
Mother never was there for me,
And she was embarrassed enough,
Because of this girl I so need to be.
All my life I had wanted one simple thing,
And that was to be the daughter,
And older sister I have always been.
My sister was born when I was ten,
But my mother wished I had never been
born, when I said that I was her older sister.
Mother plotted, schemed, and plotted more,
And then she succeeded and threw me out the door.
She sent me to the lions den, to be eaten alive
by abuse of every kind.
So when the judge said you are free to go,
I just thought yippee. But free to go where?

Dear Barbie,
The things in our past give us a value sometimes. We know how it felt to be abused as children-therefore we know not to spread the evil. You had a horrible young life...but now is new and you will be ok. Your talented writings and many friends here on AD support you as
family. Remember, God does not make junk!

Wow Your poem brought tears to my eyes
And memories I thought I closed the door to
I truly do relate to your words
Your childhood is almost like my life,
I know how you feel!
But think about it,you are free!!
And I know miracles happened all the time
You'll find a place to call your own!
Peace Love and Light...Morning star

My Heart Aches To Hug This Little Girl & Love Her, Mothering Is So Very Important...Any Little Girl Lost & Alone Is A Very Empty Feeling, The Mother of This Girl Must Have Had Serious Mental Issues.
and also ignorance-(which is simply a lack of knowledge)
There is no better thing than love, and the outside package should never change this. Love does not see gender roles, or color of skin tones ect.....a parental love nurtures the heart & soul of children-
it is supposed to anyway...I was embarassed of my mother when she turned to drugs to ease her pain so I sort of relate to this on a very deep level
