Can You Hear The Music?

Did you ever hear a song in your head
right before it was time to go to bed?
Did you ever hear a song from the air
or from some other bill of fare?
Did it come from the radio blaring in your ear
or was it your own self contained fear?
 

Did you search so deep down in your soul
and see the scars and holes
left by an uncaring, loveless demon kind
or was it coming from inside your mind?
Can you remember what this song was about?
Do you still sing it at night in fits of doubt?

Do you whistle this song at work
letting them think it is one of your quirks?
Does the song have meaning for you
or is it something that compels you to do
certain, unnecessary things like shout out
the things that bother you when in doubt?

I have heard this song many, many times
and I have felt the inner pulling of my
soul being torn apart piece by piece
that refuses to let me be at ease
with my thoughts of what I must do
to be complete and whole.

When we hear this song we must
never say do, die, or bust
but we must continue on if we are
to journey through life so far
that we can be complete, and whole
in our bodies and souls.
