My cousin Joseph S. Bonnett died of cardiac arrest on Saturday, Jan 9, 2011. He was only 54. We were very close. I wrote this poem for him.

Hi, How ya doing?
I'm calling from heaven today,
to let you know I am ok

I had not a moment to tarry,
I had no time to waste.
God sent his angels to get me
and on silver wings they carried me away

My ancestors came to greet me
as I entered heavens door.
I'm now in paradise
resting on God's celistial shore.

It's so beautiful here,
peace and tranquility abound.
There are no cares or worries
Life eternal has been found.

Please do not cry or grieve so much,
for I am only a heart beat away.
You'll feel me in the warm sunlight
or in the breeze on most any day

My love will always be with you,
though we are worlds apart.
Some day we'll be together again,
to make a brand new start

Until then remember,
I'm just a heart beat away
