No Sweat

Okay, so the joke depends on a misspelling (or should I say, mispelling?). Probably doesn't matter. But I can guarantee I've come up with worse lame jokes and fanciful reasons when the weights seem to weigh much more than they used to!

                No Sweat

I try to exercise every day
Dividing an onerous task in two.
Part one begins by early light.
Part two I put off ‘til later,
Always sagely prompted by a reminder.
FINISH exercises, I firmly post
In at least two different locations.
I usually manage to do so
Unless an “importance” arises, of course.
Ah well, I remind myself,
Rather than bewail my sloth
Or blame a faulty memory,
I skipped those reps in order not to offend
Fit Danes, Norwegians and Swedes.

I really like the way you couch your phrases in this one. I think you imply by "no sweat," not a misspelling, but an action that would belie the technique used by Scandinavians who seem to like to, sweat a lot, in their steam baths. I'm with you. I always sweat when I see the whites of their eyes and notice that their pupils are little black dots, showing me that they are about to strike like a viper.

They say exercising adds years to your life,
and it's true, every time I exercise I always feel older.

Talking about that faulty memory, I have big time short term memory loss also. Oh yeah! I post notes, then walk by them without a glance.
