Not So Fast
A poem I did not write
During a span of weeks
Hid in anger and fright
I tried, flailed and fumed
Hunted down words
Framed truth I presumed
Or worse, that I knew
Thoughts drenched in gloom
Grew darker in hue
Other news arrived
Tolling its truth
Warning I’d contrived
Frustration’s rhymed weapon
Didn’t sight the real
But hurtful misconception
A good thing for me
And for those I love,
Bad guesses set free
Instead of more fuel
For a next round of strife,
Words fearful or cruel
Silence proved golden
Muzzled dire intention
I’m forever beholden

I would say that holding back and not speaking sometimes works and sometimes not.
Ron
When cruel words are said they are written on the heart as I feel they were written on yours. WRITING HELPS.
Love and blessings,

A very good thing, but sometimes you need to speak out.
Holding things inside causes resentment to fester.
That is not such a good thing.
that is gathering up writers such as you, me, and others.
It takes some daring to put it into words, but you have done it well.
Thanks for the revelation.
