For four years Mynah Birds greeted us from a Banyan tree at dawn. Now I awake and imagine that their raucous cries have been transformed into the faint sounds of early morning traffic.

High Cue

Muffled traffic wakes

Mynahs in a banyan tree

Memory rises

I am a fan of this type of poetry, succinct and yet very evocative. Thank you for sharing, Charles. Love and peace,

IT IS A SHAME BUT THE REALITY IS THAT THE GROWING METROPOLIS EDGES IN, OR SHOULD I SAY EDGES OUT SUBURBIA'S SPACE MORE AND MORE. THANKS FOR SHARING. LOVE, BLESSINGS AND FAITH...JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Nice translation from the Japanese! ;-)

I can see how you miss the old place already. Traffic sounds are a far cry from birds waking you every morning. Although I'm glad I don't have roosters crowing to wake me up like happened in a ninth floor hotel room in the Philippines. Some birds are not pleasant to hear in the morning.

This takes me back to memories of sounds I grew to love while growing up in a small village on Lake Erie. Thank you. I believe I'll go into a daydream and listen to those sounds again.

Love ya!

even briefly, this is called 'the merging of private facilities and industrial expansion' ;)) a highly contrasting piece with its abyssal content. Cheers, alex
