The Tree of Knowledge

The Challenge

The Tree of Knowledge
begins to dance.

The Challenge is
risk-taking, you might
win, you might lose.

She rules, established
her territory in the
sunniest hour
and the bluest
of skies.

She will feed you
wisdom all damn
day, buzz over
your head.

Females have begun
to "arrive."

She has wings built
from nature's handiwork
to embrace a labyrinth
of cultures, habitats,

and she will teach you
the names of the wind.

Sahara's harmattan
Germany's foehn
Australia's brickfielder
Israel's sharav
California's Santa Ana
France's mistral

An heir (air) gave
her the north wing.

She pays the heir in
bar
ter, but she doesn't
have enough on her,

So she goes to the
Tree of Knowledge for

The Challenge.

Life needs moisture as well as air for its survival. Even the tree of knowledge needs the succulent juices of the earth so that it may dance against the breath of dry wind. Wetness flows, just as wind carries, and both elements help the human to "arrive." Thanks for transporting me today through your blend of the concrete with the abstract. --Bill

Always liked the way that Wisdom is described as a woman in the Holy Bible. Your poem shows how Wisdom perches herself in the Tree of the knowledge of an all wise Creator God.

Very nice, very metaphoric.
blessin's Sis. Sage,

my favorite quality in your poetry is your distinct view on the world. So many write flowers and teapot poetry but yours really has your personality stamped on it- the end really makes you go hmmmmmm:)
