Shabelle News Network is one of the largest media networks in Somalia. It has been closed down for the past few days after it was bombarded by the Transitional Federal Government in Mogadishu. This will have negative implications for both free press in Somalia as it will discourage journalists as well as the Transitional Government itself as it will be branded as an oppressive regime.
Somali Shabelle Media Network, Horn�s clear voice for the voiceless, At the present, blocked from its work, Based on accusations that are baseless! Explanation: To deny people�s right, Loosely To obtain reliable information, Leaked by reliable sources that write, Effectively kills the media�s position! The Transitional Federal Government in Somalia claims to practice the western version of democracy. But the action to bombard and close down the Shabelle Media in Mogadishu is a clear contradiction and detrimental to press freedom in Somalia. The government should move with speed to enable the employees of this media house to resume and perform their duties without any further restrictions and harassment.

Thanks for being a voice for freedom and democracy. Shabelle Radio came on air after the TFG was accused worldwide by harrasing media institutions and this poem may have played a major role to re-open Shabelle. Thanks dear brothr and ciid wanaagsan to you.
