The Ultimate G.I. Promotion

I was in the USAF twenty four years.

I have no regrets; those were educational years.

I came in as an Airman Basic then became an NCO.

Up, up, up the military ladder I did go.

I got my Degree in Education and thought teaching was cool.

Then before I knew it, I wound up in Officer Training School.

I became a Lieutenant, Captain and then a Major you see.

Then before long I earned my second college degree.

A hurricane hit in Homestead and took me to another stop.

I got out of the Air Force but my Air Force career did not stop.

After I was released, there was still another state to see.

In a short time, I became an instructor at the USAF Academy.

After my tour of duty in the Air Force my life as a GI took a huge turn.

For it was not until later in life I understood what I could not earn.

I got my biggest promotion and I did it without any degree.

I became a member of God’s Service and became a brand new me.

All those years I thought I was just a “Government Issue” another G.I.

 But I was “God Issued” from the beginning of time and now I know why.

 God has plans for me to prosper and go to places I cannot even fathom or see.

I know that anything the in this world will never change His love for you or for me.

So now I got the ultimate promotion into God’s Service and I cannot tell a lie.

I am living happily forever in His service, even past my last days on earth as “His G.I.”
