I needed a few days to assimilate Chant's story. That in this age of informed world still one can find people torturing their own children, are way out of the wildest fantasy...
My heart is bleeding today and will forever
because I saw horrid images of a battered child
which couldn’t be left in peace by his mother
that took him from a home and then took his life.
I remember then my own childhood, defenseless,
after all she was my mother, I couldn’t fight back,
and days becoming a long collection of welts,
in the soul by words, on the skin by her hands.
How could that mother do such a ghastly thing
to a little and defenseless toddler, her own child,
beat for no reason, terrorize, depriving him of love,
how could a mother do it, nobody understand.
Been there, taken it, survived....Of course not as bad as this poor we mite, but my legs were a mass of welts most the time, madness reigned supreme where I grew up, mother had anger to KILL, angels protected me from her wrath.
My heart bleeds for the pain this little one went through, but he was not ignored, or forgotten, and all is recorded~Only heaven knows why he didnt survive, when others do. His Robe will have a red hem for martyrdom.
They do it because they can! It is not the child's fault for being born, but so-called mothers blame the child for all their sorrows! Mothers and Fathers make Shadow Children, that grow-up to be lonely, scarred Shadow People! LOVE YOU! SC

This tears at my heart Georg for too much is let go in todays world, if you put in a report of child abuse, they call and make an appointment to go check it out a week later, instead of getting of their butts and tending to it right away. They say they have to go by the book, well it is plain to see, the wrong person has written the book and it so upsets me. Thanks georg for sharing.

My husband has always said - "give me five minutes with the person who abuses a child, let them feel what it is to feel pain."
We have seen many children who are abused and end up in foster care. In our case some are blessed to live with my step-son and daughter-in-law, where love abounds and boundaries are taught. They are an exceptional young couple - having as many as 5 foster children [at once] plus their own 3.
Abuse - zero tolerance (Karla's words). Hang the perpetrators out to dry. Let's see if they will cry - STOP!
Not only the physical abuse, but the verbal, the sexual: how can mankind do this to their own offspring? When a person abuses a child, they cease to be human in my eyes. Tragic, heartbreaking write: the line that got me was,
"...and days becoming a long collection of welts...." *tears*
...marks,scars,welts,beat...all leave permanent damage...that not forgotten...sometimes continues...handed down like a hard slap...across the face of a blind eye. This is a very sad pen...and I feel it in your word...

Georg, as hard as it is to try to understand how someone could be so mean and cruel, especially to a child, perhaps thats the part of the nature of man that we would not want to know. A heartfelt write.
What did Ngati ever do to warrent being bludgeoned to death at the hands of those monsters?? It just breaks my heart when I think of those horrific images of the little one's broken, badly battered body! This is a crime that must be eradicated NOW and I am glad ~Chanti is making us aware of it! We must ALL do our part to eradicate child abuse and protect the innocent little ones!
Heartwrenching write; God bless the dear little children! May they find safety and the love they so rightfully deserve!

My dear Georg, many do not want to comment on such a horrific topic as abuse and especially one that leads to the death of a child.
Sex abuse the same thing. I pity those who choose to bury their heads in the sand and quickly turn the page, or delete a friend because it’s too sickening!
Tell me, how does that kind of response help put a stop to this insanity?
Some mothers were never meant to be mothers but sadly never realized it until it was too late.

Abuse is a vicious cycle that is passed from generaztion to generation. Most times if you look at the abuser they were at one time an abusee. It makes my heart sad that sometimes we humans can be so Screwed up, and never realize it till it's too late.
