Losing a Friend

I wrote about a friend of mine saying that a friend of her had little time left, and it made me thing about them that underserving have lojal friends, and the others that suffer the demise of a friend as equal as the losing of a sister...

Poem Artwork

If we have a hole in our emotional pocked
where we guard our most precious friends,
shouldn’t be surprised to find no one there
but an empty fabric full of utterly contempt.

If we have taken all for granted our rights
never said sorry or of errors made amends,
solitude will be the last of all our worries,
all started with a hole in our pocket’s end.

What about those that don’t have a pocket,
the ones that put all of their friends first,
suffered in silence when one got final sick,
stood there holding hands to the very end.

What about those ones that we so well know
the ones showing with sincerity that they cared,
should they don’t have been spared the pain?
or at least a little glimpse of the other side
before time forced them to say farewell…?

True friends are a bit of heaven. To loose one is heartbreaking. You penned this as only a true friend could have done.

God bless you, my friend. Kathy

Thank you Georg, this is so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes as I was reading this. Words of love and the beauty that the eye can see that perhaps many cannot. When the costumes are stripped away and one's soul stands exposed, only God's light and love shines through.....

Be always safe,
Karen

I loved the metaphors in this.
the hole in the pocket...yes, it does lead to no friends
The loyal friends that stand by in times of trouble are worth their weight in gold! They are a rare commodity...

Georg,

Unfortunately we can't put our friends and loved ones in our pockets to protect them but holding their hand to see them through is the next best thing. Peace, Love and Blessings, Paul.
