Life starts with pain and ended with pain, but in between happens a lot of things, some of them are as follow...
The eyes of a newborn can’t focus,
in the womb there are no lights,
no menacing shadows all is warmth,
just a soothing beat from mother’s heart
waiting for the blessed of all days
when flesh from flesh said it’s time,
a surprising hard slap and sudden cold,
an the prisoner of pain will cry.
A toddler runs, it is the first time
that freedom is granted without
boundaries, to run so free, or with
the support of well known hands,
until, reaching the point of no return
the inevitable fall and the surprise,
a sharp pain in one of the knees
and the prisoner of pain will cry.
A little boy came home from school
and find that silence took his house,
but all the rooms are full of people
and suddenly the boy is felt with fright,
almost inaudible whispers, consolations,
why are his mother sobbing so hard?
anguish realizing Daddy isn’t here
and the prisoner of pain will cry.
A teenager girl defying mother’s curfew
returns home showing every room’s lights,
“big trouble” she things opening the door
a few neighbors are surrounding her Dad,
when he looked at her with sad reddened eyes
she understood missing that final goodbye
to a sick mother in bed and a broken curfew,
and the prisoner of pain would cry.
Try to explain to small orphan children
and the words they wouldn’t understand,
why everybody have fathers and mothers
granted to so many that they didn’t have,
they only know that solitude is theirs
and the other children own the smiles,
in bed, every night, they will feel pain,
and the prisoners of pain will cry.
George, you write what you feel, your feelings are spot on. You are the real deal, your write comes from where you feel. Didn't want to make a poem out of that line but it is well meant. Thanks.
Your poem gives voice to what many children feel and how that pain makes them prisoners.
"...and the prisoners of pain will cry" so aptly said. It reminded me that my heart was broken when my Father died, I was 13. Three years later my Mother remarried - I had a Dad. My pain was gone.
Wonderful writing sweet man..I work with a lot of sick children who are all alone ..I feel their pain..and I love every one of them ...great job...be well and safe always..Hugsssssss
Georg, you give a voice to those orphans who cry for just a bit of what other children take for granted. They need to be recognized more!Thank you for reminding us!
You have opened our eyes to the pain that the children suffer due to circumstances that we thought we, the adults, were the only ones who grieves. Little children have feelings too.
I remember when I was 6-1/2 years old, and waiting all morning for my grandfather to wake up to hold me, except he did not wake up at all. I was actually heartbroken with grieves, but strangely I couldn't shed a tear. I remember how my grandmothers and relatives scolded me saying how grandpa loved me so much and yet I didn't shed a tear; but if only they all knew I died too with my grandpa on that day...
Georg I wanted twenty-four children but after giving birth to two and adopting three, then due to my health my husband said thats enough Rose and though it broke my heart I knew he was right. How I hate to think of a child in pain, crying and no one to take that pain away. I'll sign off now as I am filled up. Thank you for sharing.
Children are our future, we need to stop these tears, and fill them with confidence and love and caring.
Very good write, Georg,
Peace, love, and light,

This one makes the reader's eyes well with tears...the harm we do to our children! Painfully, poignantly penned: borne of experience? Well done, Georg, and I'm sorry.
Very gut wrenching to a father and grandfather like me to read this one Georg, it is sad that we can spend (as a race) billions of dollars a year on war but still can not stop the children's cries.
Beautiful, Georg... My favorite stanza is the last one, of course... I have seen first-hand the anguish in those eyes who aren't "chosen" by parents. It breaks my heart each time...
So AWESOME! Tears, liquid pain! Those that have experienced sadness and pain, know how to comfort best, for when they say," I know how you feel", they really do. HUGS! SC
This is especially appropros after hearing Actor David Keith speak this weekend about his fight against child porn trafficking on the internet. So many tears wept by and for the children... Rebecca
...to have a key to unlock all pain for every child,, as they should live free of such sadness,,, and be filled with love and laughter. my heart breaks.

Ah yes there is pain in living and in dying but we must place our trust in God and ask for His comfort.

You know, Georg, I can closely identify with that last stanza because I had no mother nor father. I did have the solitude but I truly did not have the pain because, to me, my situation seemed normal. I saw the other kids with their adults, but the concept of "parent" never came to me until I had a child of my own, and then I knew the pain of breaking new ground. Great poem, Georg, you ole softy :-)
This is so beautiful and sad. Oh we cry for those in so much pain and when they're children we cry from the heart as well. Wonderful write Georg and very touching to the heart. Love, Bonnie
A page-turning novel about a relationship between best friends that is interrupted because of betrayal , deceit, sexual promiscuity and pregnancy happens!
A poignant story about letting go of a narcissist in your life. Have you ever been attacked FULL force by a narcissist? It's the closest thing to being stabbed over and over in the back.
