The Boy & The Rain (revisited)

Some of us lived in a home that wasn't sweet, this poem is not to bring sad memories but look at the present and see how long ahead of that pathetic time we have traveled.

Poem Artwork

I was a little boy looking trough
the glass window of my room
as the rain washed the street
wishing I had a friend.
The room was kind of cold
like reflecting the outside storm,
the absence of the sun
painting all with the shade of grays.

Wet fingers tapered on the glass
leaving behind traveling drops,
bringing from an angel a message
so the rain will have something to say.
On the window’s sill, a one eye bear
With sad expectancy looking up,
and in a corner flying to nowhere
With a broken wing was a little airplane.

Trying to tap-dance with the rain
somewhere was a grandfather’s clock,
disturbing frustrated prayer with
“try again”…”try again”…”try again”
The wind stopped and so did the rain,
leaving a shinning wet and empty world,
to a solitary little boy by the window
that wished…he had a friend.

This poem is sweet and endearing and yes SAD!
YOU were so alone, but so blessed by visiting angels, even then!
PEACE is now part of your inner soul, as the healing has begun!
WRITE ON!

Sad...yet it sounds as though the rain was his friend...empathetically sharing his feelings.

Soaked in tears that rain, a deluge, raining inside and outside, drowning the heart in sombre thoughts, and then, here come the sun!!!

I see a lonely little boy in this poem, longing for friends and freedom.

In life
some are surrounded by friends,
but still feel lonely;

yet
Some are loners
but contented with just one or two true friends.

But I can see the little boy who is longing for friendship in this one.

Splendid! This powerful and expressive poem grabs us and pulls us within the boy's room -- and into his heart and mind, as he yearns for friendship! Bravo, Georg! Bravo!

This broke my heart for I picture you as that little boy and the heartache you held in your soul...wish we would have been brother and sister then...you never would have been lonely...so next time you see that little boy by the window, paint me in next to you my bro...for I will be there...love and hugs,Bonnie

So very sad; every little boy should have lots of friends to play with.

And speaking of friends, Jersey wants to know if he and Rufuz can visit you for a few months.
