Becca, Jill, Vicky, ET wrote wonderful love poems that we put on one side of the weight scale, so, I wrote another love poem to put on the other side to make things balanced, because out there are people smarting with pain, and for those this one is dedicated...

Poem Artwork

Illustration, the first sketch for a oil paint by the author in 1975.

You told me that you will never go…
but you are not here, inside my arms,
you voice echoes in my empty room,
you never left and are part of my life,
but light cast not of you any shadow,
you are here and not are, that’s sad,
because I never let you out my dreams
another illusion holding my heart alive.

The shadows around me are howling,
with that sorrow of a wolf that’s solitary
in a quiet and silenced world of now
the long sad notes, wounded, vulnerably,
like a man in a dungeon getting desperate
hanging over a bottomless pit, abysmally,
from his not existing chains, but madness
will assure him that he is much on jeopardy.

In the pillow the deep concave depression
after your head is the only company by night
when I look because I smell your perfume
and then I believe you are laying by my side
but my arm only touches the emptiness body,
cold, absent, as the soul of a dead love like
that crawls all over your skin without a trace,
but what remains is the burning pain of ice.

You told me long ago that you will never go,
and I believed and opened for you my heart,
little I knew that this moment will caught me
in a evening of departure and not the arrival,
and I ask the shadows if you ever was here
or you are just a figment, a joke made of time,
a tender love which I needed to not drown in
a lake made of bitter tears from love that died.

a very moving romantic lament of loss,
love's heart-filled memory, sadness, and pain ...

Dear Georg, your poem makes me happy and sad at the same time. Happy, as I discover more about my talented friend. Sad to know the suffering of a human being who has such an experience. But as our colleague Liana Margiva mentioned Omar Khayyam, I would add that he said "The heart full of love will never die". You compare me to Aesop and allow to say that you are Unique in your expression of love and pain. Be well, my friend. Vous êtes un romancier extraordinaire. Love Emile

What you have written...touches deep inside of me.
The words have come from your heart and soul...and are so true to many.
Whether the love be lost from break-up, or death, these are the words that tell the feelings of both. Masterful poet you have written such beauty here.

This is so full of emotion and feelings that it sobs between lines for the bitterness of love found and lost. The artwork is also wonderfully done my friend.

Goerg,
You have exposed the permanence of grief's yearning as Love's scale does have many sides, your words take me back into my own chambered memories of a Love which left me in the darkness of night & lives on in its empty reservoir of my heart’s memorandum of promise
those depths of Love's bonds within us forevermore....

Georg her left you a sliver in the heart that pain you feel is in your poem so real, have someone with long painted fingernails remove it, if she can, just for a moment, then put it back.
Blessings you old soul! Jasmin Horst

Georg, Such deep love can produce such deep sorrow. You surely are a most talented poet that can bring life to such amazing words.
I could feel your emotions in this one.
Most superb poetry that you have written to balance those scales.

Much peace, love, and light,
