Imagine been told when and how your life will end...what will you do? what will you think? how will you use the time left?
Because, for you, goodbye will be not just another word then.

Poem Artwork

One morning you awake to the prospect
about your life that’s coming to its end,
and you look around, so many thing to do,
so little time, wondering where years went,
maybe were devoured by a gargantuan clock
because it could never be anybody’s friend.

Realizing to have been doomed to death
from the start, is not difficult to comprehend
that anything going up…will fall down, like
tears of laughter running about your face
as you run along the long life’s corridor
until you stop in front of the exit door, spend.

You take for granted that it will be a tomorrow,
until you are told, “He has no more time to lend,
your roller-coaster trip on Gaia soon will stop,
and it is time for you start to smile and be content
because many others never have been warned
like you, it is time now to make all those amends.”

You will look out of the window into the night and
wonder if it’s the same darkness beyond the end
in the eternal realms of a forever oblivion void,
or if there’s nothing, just vastness of empty space,
without even eyes to see anything that isn’t there
your soul like an expended match, as yourself.

Trapped inside a decaying body the mind is sharp,
to be aging is not a reason for an old oak to bend,
the Reaper, is a lumberjack coming to life’s forest
searching for that wooden flesh without defense.
Knowing that we are dying we ask Him why? And,
much more so, as we were told…how and when.

Brother this is one fantastic write

It so happens that I just visit a Dear friend of 95

At a rehab center, She's not dying of any illness

she fell, didn't break any bones just badly bruised and unable

to move, it seems her boby has taken all it could at 95, it

was painful to see her fragile figure without movement.....

except for her head and lips for she was able to speak,

her eyes show fear and the fact she knows, soon she not be.

she said to my wife, I don't think I'm coming out of here, my wife responded, fear not , you have always been a strong woman

Just think positive, you be out sooner than you think, she said

with hope in her voice "You Think So?",

at 95 she was still active, a member of our social circle,

she had just started walking with a cane only last year...

a beautiful youthful woman with all her intellectual faculties

she is our living treasure within our social circle,

standing there before her in the same room I felt like a child visiting my grandmother and like a child I wanted to cry

but excused myself, before a tear escaped.....

Peace brother

Hi Georg, you know I read lots and lots of beautiful poetry in our AD family and i'll be honest to say that I intentionally skipped this one because it made me sad. I look at my father and I see those eyes seemed blank yet know so much. Sometimes I wish I could reach the finish line first, ahead of everyone I love then look back one last time to see how they journey and whisper "goodbye" not with tears but wih a smile. Be well, Georg.

Love,
Sheri

Georg, you know everything, the Great Spirit is inside of you, he will guide you and make you proud to walk among your elders. Listen for the ancient voices, they will tell you of the wealth that you will obtain withing your loving heart as you cross the threshold to another world where there is no pain and suffering. It is the true "Nirvana"...be not afraid for fear is thy only enemy. I love your poem it speaks to me so much this evening.
Go in peace, love, and light,
Dear spirit warrior, you will leave an imprint for generations to come!

We are born to learn and to prepare to die. If we prepare properly our reward here on earth is acceptance of the inevitable. If one can say to themselves, "I've done my best" then there is peace and those final days are walks in a new sun.
Love to you Georg,
Marcia

George, the human brain rejects the thought of death,
s,so when the time comes,it acts surprised,in fear of
the reality,hoping there is a mistake...Excellent words

My Mother's words ease my thoughts as she told me before her death, that her time was near and God would travel with her as she prepared for her next destination. I wouldn't want to suffer and I really don't know how I would handle it if I were told I only have this much time left. I have often thought each day brings us a day closer to death. One day Georg Goodbye won't be just a word.

I felt this one my friend for I my brother was diagnosed with untreatale cancer shortly before Christmas. I spoke with him and tried to be cheerful but the fact is and the honest truth is that it frightened me to think what he must be going through. Not the pain of the cancer but knowint it is just a matter of time.

Is profound thinking, we don't like talking about death, us in the West.
But we were taught to pray for a happy death for in that equates to a happy life.
But, to be true, we know death has no sting as it was overcome on Calvary.

Here we go, minute by minute Georg, on that big clock in the sky, second by second, being told which minute or second, weighs more on the mind, for you hear and watch the ticking more intensely, it becomes louder and louder, even if you're hard of hearing, like most of us old folks, but it cerainly is more accute for a person barely on this planet. Given up that waterbag that surrounds us, is really not death, it's just a change of rags sort of. It must be dark days in Sweden Georg, for you to reach this deep on a Saturday morning.
You got to get off that cheap booze, that Coors you're drinking, and back to something more substantial to cheer the day.
Hugs! Jasmin Horst

As you know Georg this hits pretty close to home. And having told mom about her limited future I had to ask myself, would I want to know? I'm grappling with that concept as I read your exceptional work today. And mom? She gets to hear the news a few more times because she has the additional burden(?) of a decaying body and a decaying mind. So I'll deliver the news again, then again. Until it's no longer news, but history. Patrick

IT'S YOUR FOURTH STANZA THAT I BELIEVE MAKES ALL THE DIFFERENCE WHEN 'GOODBYE' IS NOT JUST A WORD...BUT A REALITY. FOR THOSE OF US WHO 'KNOW', BEYOND A SHADOW OF A DOUBT, THAT THEY HAVE A HOME TO GO TO...'GOODBYE' IS NOT AN ENDING, RATHER A BEGINNING. HOWEVER, FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT...'GOODBYE' IS A VERY SAD THING. WONDERFUL WORK. THANKS FOR SHARING AND BLESSINGS TO YOU. LOVE, JOYCE * HIS INSPIRATIONS

Personally, I can't wait to move on. I'll wave good-bye and jump over the edge with a big-old smile on my face. Hope I never come back to this hell-hole planet! Yes, there is beauty all around and everywhere. Too bad we're not just simply left alone in peace so we can live, love and self-actualize.

only the 'lived' of us can write about such....'trapped in a decaying body' will just be a familiar continuence for some...they won't mourn the loss of abilities and opportunities never used...forewarning wouldn't inspire change/regret.....(i think :)

i really liked this georg...thanks for sharing

Our souls are not an 'expended match' Georg, but I catch your drift. Spooky looking into an empty void. But if He is pure loving energy and the Source--you'll meld into the source when your shell has expired. Taboos like death are tricky subjects to write. This is written honestly and with great depth...Lin
